Vervit

Cash on Delivery Policy

This Cash on Delivery Policy explains how COD works on Vervit.co.in, when COD is available, when partial COD may apply, how verification works, and what customers should know before placing a COD order.

By placing a COD order on Vervit.co.in, you agree to the terms mentioned below.

1

What is Cash on Delivery?

Cash on Delivery means the customer pays for the order at the time of delivery instead of paying the full amount online at checkout.

COD can help customers feel more confident while shopping from a new brand, but it also requires accurate address details, active phone number, and serious order intent.

COD is widely used in Indian e-commerce, but it also creates higher risk of delivery refusal and return-to-origin losses for brands. Razorpay's COD analysis notes that COD is a baseline expectation for many Indian shoppers, while also being associated with RTO and delivery refusal risk for businesses.

2

COD Availability

COD may be available for selected orders and selected pincodes.

COD availability depends on:

  • Customer pincode
  • Courier serviceability
  • Order value
  • Product type
  • Offer type
  • Inventory availability
  • Customer order history
  • Failed delivery history
  • Internal verification checks
  • Risk checks by Vervit or courier/payment partners

COD is not guaranteed for every order, every customer, or every location.

If COD is not available at checkout, customers can use prepaid payment options.

3

Partial COD

Vervit may offer partial COD for selected orders.

In partial COD, the customer pays a small confirmation amount online at checkout, and the remaining amount is paid at the time of delivery.

Example:

  • Order value: ₹1,499
  • Online confirmation amount: ₹100
  • Payable at delivery: ₹1,399

The exact amount will be shown at checkout.

The confirmation amount is adjusted against the total order value.

4

Why Partial COD Is Used

Partial COD helps Vervit confirm genuine orders before dispatch.

It helps reduce:

  • Fake orders
  • Non-serious COD orders
  • Wrong address orders
  • Refused deliveries
  • Unreachable customers
  • Courier return losses
  • Inventory blocking
  • Operational delays

This allows us to keep COD available for genuine customers while protecting the brand from misuse.

5

COD Charges

COD charges may apply to selected orders.

If applicable, COD charges will be shown at checkout before order placement.

COD charges may vary based on:

  • Order value
  • Courier partner
  • Pincode
  • Payment method
  • Campaign or offer
  • Internal COD rules

Any COD charge shown at checkout is accepted by the customer at the time of order placement.

COD charges may not be refundable unless specifically approved by Vervit.

Because regulators and consumer-facing rules emphasize clear disclosure of costs and payment modes in e-commerce, any COD charge should be shown transparently before purchase.

6

COD Order Confirmation

COD orders may require confirmation before dispatch.

Vervit may confirm your COD order through:

  • WhatsApp
  • SMS
  • Phone call
  • Email
  • OTP confirmation
  • Address verification
  • Partial advance payment

If the order cannot be confirmed, Vervit may hold or cancel the order.

7

Customer Responsibilities for COD Orders

Before placing a COD order, please make sure:

  • Your name is correct.
  • Your mobile number is active.
  • Your shipping address is complete.
  • Your pincode is correct.
  • Someone is available to receive the order.
  • You are reachable for courier calls.
  • You have the payable amount ready at delivery.
  • You do not place duplicate or fake orders.

COD should be selected only when you genuinely intend to accept and pay for the order.

8

Payment at Delivery

For COD orders, payment must be made to the delivery partner at the time of delivery.

Depending on courier availability, payment may be accepted through:

  • Cash
  • UPI to courier partner
  • Card machine, if available with courier
  • Other payment methods supported by courier

Payment method at delivery depends on the courier partner and may not always be available in every location.

Please keep cash ready if your courier partner does not support digital payment at delivery.

9

No Product Opening Before Payment

For COD orders, the courier partner may not allow the package to be opened before payment.

Customers must complete payment at delivery as per courier process.

If the package appears opened, torn, wet, crushed, or tampered with, we recommend refusing delivery and informing Vervit Support.

If the package is accepted, please record a complete unboxing video before opening it.

10

Refusing a COD Order

Please do not place a COD order unless you are sure you want to accept it.

If a COD order is refused at delivery without valid reason, Vervit may:

  • Mark the customer account as high-risk
  • Restrict COD on future orders
  • Ask for prepaid payment for future orders
  • Deduct shipping/handling charges from any eligible amount
  • Cancel future duplicate COD orders

This helps us keep COD available for genuine customers.

11

Failed Delivery

COD delivery may fail if:

  • Customer is unavailable
  • Phone number is unreachable
  • Address is incorrect or incomplete
  • Customer refuses delivery
  • Customer does not have payment ready
  • Courier cannot access location
  • Customer asks courier to come repeatedly without accepting
  • Delivery location becomes unserviceable

If delivery fails, the order may be returned to Vervit.

Future COD access may be restricted for repeated failed deliveries.

12

Incorrect Address or Phone Number

Customers are responsible for entering correct shipping details.

If a COD order fails because of incorrect address, wrong phone number, incomplete landmark, wrong pincode, or customer unavailability, Vervit will not be responsible for the failed delivery.

Please contact Vervit Support immediately if you need to correct your address before dispatch.

Address changes may not be possible after shipment.

13

COD Cancellation Before Dispatch

COD orders can be cancelled only before they are packed or dispatched.

Once the order is shipped, cancellation may not be possible.

If partial COD advance was paid, refund eligibility will depend on the order status and Vervit's Cancellation Policy.

14

COD Cancellation After Dispatch

Once a COD order is dispatched, the customer is expected to accept delivery.

If the customer refuses delivery after dispatch, Vervit may restrict COD on future orders.

Any partial COD confirmation amount may not be refundable if shipping and handling costs have already been incurred.

15

Partial COD Refund Rules

If a partial COD order is cancelled before dispatch and cancellation is approved, the prepaid confirmation amount may be refunded.

If the order is shipped and the customer refuses delivery, is unavailable, gives incorrect address, or does not accept the order, the partial COD confirmation amount may not be refunded.

If Vervit cancels the order due to stock unavailability or serviceability issues, the confirmation amount may be refunded.

16

COD Return Eligibility

COD orders follow the same Exchange Policy as prepaid orders.

A COD order is not automatically eligible for exchange simply because it was paid at delivery.

Exchange requests must be raised within 7 days of delivery and must meet Vervit's exchange eligibility conditions. For damaged items, requests must be raised within 2 days.

Exchanges are not accepted for used or worn products. We do not offer returns.

17

COD Refund Method

If a COD return is approved after verification and quality check, refund may be processed through:

  • UPI
  • Bank transfer
  • Store credit
  • Wallet credit, where applicable
  • Another method approved by Vervit

Customers must provide correct refund details.

Vervit is not responsible for refund delay or failure caused by incorrect bank account, IFSC, UPI ID, or contact details shared by the customer.

18

COD Refund Timeline

Approved COD refunds are processed only after the product is received back and passes quality check.

Refund timelines may vary depending on verification, bank processing, UPI processing, and support volume.

Vervit will share updates after refund initiation.

19

COD for High-Value Orders

For high-value orders, Vervit may require:

  • Partial advance payment
  • Full prepaid payment
  • Phone confirmation
  • Address verification
  • Identity or delivery confirmation
  • Additional internal approval

If verification is not completed, the order may be cancelled.

20

COD Restrictions

Vervit may restrict or disable COD for:

  • High-risk pincodes
  • Remote locations
  • High-value orders
  • Repeated refused deliveries
  • Duplicate orders
  • Unverified customers
  • Suspicious order patterns
  • Selected sale products
  • Selected categories
  • Custom products
  • Limited-edition drops

COD restrictions are used to maintain smooth delivery and protect the shopping experience for genuine customers.

21

Multiple COD Orders

If a customer places multiple COD orders using the same phone number, address, email, or similar details, Vervit may verify the orders before dispatch.

Vervit may merge, hold, cancel, or ask for prepaid confirmation for multiple COD orders.

22

COD During Sales or Campaigns

During sales, launches, or limited-time campaigns, COD rules may be updated.

Some offers may be prepaid-only.

Some products may have partial COD only.

Some sale items may not be available on COD.

The available payment options will be shown at checkout.

23

Delivery Partner Limitations

COD delivery is handled by courier partners.

Courier partners may have their own limitations around:

  • Cash collection
  • UPI collection
  • Delivery attempts
  • Serviceable pincodes
  • Delivery timing
  • Package opening rules
  • Failed delivery marking

Vervit will help where possible, but courier partner rules may apply.

24

Fraud Prevention

To protect customers and the brand, Vervit may review COD orders for fraud prevention.

Suspicious orders may be held or cancelled.

This may include orders with:

  • Fake phone numbers
  • Incomplete addresses
  • Repeated RTO history
  • Refused delivery history
  • Unusual order volume
  • Mismatched details
  • Non-serviceable location
  • Abusive or suspicious behaviour
